Nanala (she/they) is an artist, author, and practitioner of mindfulness-based spirituality. Author of "you are also a rock (and a frog)", "rain over lotus", and upcoming "be.", she has woven together mindful poetry to inspire ones soul. A plethora of creative art experiences and a reverence for the great outdoors, she blends the fruits of mindful living, the arts, and nature to create heartfelt and meaningful relationships with ourselves, our loved ones, and the world.
While raised in the Catholic church, at a young age she spent many years exploring different outlets of spirituality to find what clicked. It wasn't until her late teen years that she found what truly resonated with her soul--Engaged Buddhism, particularly within the Plum Village tradition created by Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh where she trains as an Order of Interbeing aspirant today. Not limited to one branch of practice, McMillan has dabbled within Vipassana silent retreats and takes inspiration from Taoist philosophy and Christian mysticism, general mindfulness practices, and other forms of spirituality that promote the wellbeing of all forms on Earth.
