Nanala

McMillan

Nanala (she/they) is an artist, author, and Thiên Buddhist. Author of "you are also a rock (and a frog)" and "rain over lotus", she has woven together mindful poetry from the depths of her practice. A plethora of creative art experiences and a reverence for the great outdoors, she blends the fruits of mindful living, the arts, and nature to create heartfelt and meaningful relationships with ourselves, our loved ones, and the world.

Raised in the Catholic church, at a young age she spent many years exploring different outlets of spirituality to find what held her truth. It wasn't until her late teen years that she found what truly resonated with herEngaged Buddhism, particularly within the Plum Village tradition created by Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh where she trains as an Order of Interbeing aspirant and participates as a Community Builder for Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet. Practicing double belonging and openness, McMillan has dabbled within many traditions and combines different mindfulness practices to create a wholehearted and well rounded daily practice.

Finding peace in the present through different doors has led her to creating beautiful, expressive poetry and art. In her free time, she enjoys artistry, board games, steeping a nice cup of tea, and exploring the Earth.
